2 weeks to osim triathlon and i've a serious problem.
i believe i've kept myself in good enought condition to complete a triathlon with a pretty decent pace anytime of the year.
but i learnt that this sport is not cheap especially the cycling part of it.
running i can get away with a simple running attire, and swimming i can get away with a pair of trunks and goggles. but cycling is much more costly.
considering that my internship is only paying me $550 per month, i am struggling a bit to buy myself a road bike.
2 weeks more and still haven't get myself a road bike despite sourcing for the past few months. I guess the other alternatives are to borrow, or rent from a bike boutique. Last resort is to cycle with my cui mountain bike. lol

This post came 3 week late. i suppose my creative juices are used up at 2swankiss and 02s21 blogs.
I signed up for passion run immediately after looking through the list of stuffs in the goodiebag. lol. For $18 registration, there were lots of free stuff including 3 years passion card member, 1 free entry to fitness first, saucony discount voucher, runing singlet and lots of other free stuff.
city duathlon was scheduled on the same date. but it's ok. it wasn't a wrong decision.
All the guys joined and it turned out to be a great extended class outing.

We came late and started together with the women's wave. I guess it turned out to be an additional motivation. i followed this girl all the way and she was really quite fast. She didn't stop at all for 15km, not even at the water point. I stop at quite a few water points and had to play catch up all the way. In the end i lost sight of her after 12km. :/
but it's ok since i ran 15km non stop. quite satisfied considering i haven't recovered from sundown and went for 1 week of reservist straight after sundown.
thoroughly enjoyed myself though.
Kudos to the organisers
well organised water point at every 3km
received my goodie bag immediately after the run
free flow 100+ at the tentage
lots of fun things to do at the carnival
waited till the end of the lucky draw but won nothing :/
I remember last time in my jc class, the girls were sports day relay champion. hopefully they can join us for the next run.

1 week after abusing my leg in a marathon, reservist, and another 15km run all within a space of 1 week, i am still feeling the after effects.
Meanwhile i am taking some time out to do some reading.
although it is easy to get info here and there on the web, nothing beats getting information from a good book.
The first book i'm going to introduce is starting strength.
had i have this book when i started out, i would save hours of trial and error in the gym. this book teaches u the correct form of doing the major and basic lifts such as deadlifts, squats, power cleans, bench and military press. A must for anyone who is starting out.

Reading this guy's articles on t-nation just makes me want to read his book. I picked up this book to learn about programming (designing a training program) and i'm not dissappointed. not only tells u how, but also why.

Last but not least, I am highly recommending this book - chi running. i am a chinese, and i am highly sceptical about an ang moh writing about running in a tai chi style. But I must say this book teaches me a super efficient way of running. it goes into the finer details of how to land ur foot, how to breathe. in short, please read the book.

last saturday night, mac and i went to
this came 3 days after my exams ended and i only trained up to <10km
but i still carried on, motivated by the $65 i spent, and the determination to get the finisher t-shirt.
so we stuck to our plan of fast marching the first 10km, and run the next 10km.
for those who think that they can endure 42km without training, they are in for a big test. Even walking is difficult come the last 10km.
for me i felt that it the 6hrs i took to complete it is damn fucking long even with the companion of mac.
tampines ave 9 felt like never ending
